Some pictures for Halloween, everyone’s second favorite holiday- at least in the money spending way.
Well, not only that. I think we like Halloween because it is a day to let loose, to be who you really are (or how you really are not). You get to be strange, creative. Throw the rules out the window.
It is the opposite of the favorite holiday (Christmas, in case you didn’t know). Christmas is all about conforming- making and getting the same things in the same way, not much creativity there. You go to the same stores, get the same stuff, have the same food. All so very boring.
Halloween is the opposite of all that. You get to make yourself up, create a new idea, a new sense of being. And you can even be a thing, an inanimate object. People get to see sides of others and themselves that they never have seen before. It’s all about fun. Or at least it is supposed to be. But there are always those out so spoil the fun, but we can’t go around worrying about those poopers, can we?
They say that it is when the veil between the world of the living and that of the no longer living thins, but I’m not too sure about that. Energy is always there, how you choose to view it is up to you. I think people are just paying more attention to these type of things on this day. After all, we don’t have to scare the spirits out of the fields anymore.
All right, these pictures are- on the top is this little thing that I won in a raffle at my Weight Watchers meeting yesterday. I guess it is what attracted 3 late trick-or-treaters a moment ago. The pumpkin on a box (I guess it is a present?) is from a couple doors up and across the hall. I didn’t check to see if it was real, not that it really matters.
